ACTIVITIES OF THE MONTH JUNE

30-06-2020

1.The reports of routine Husbandry activities being performed in summer camps established at various Pastures ,which could reach us on 30-06-2020 are as under,
First aid camp at HLP kunari khan by district Kupwara. First Aid camp at HLP khobalmarg by District kulgam. First aid camp at HLP Gager - Royal , first aid camp Sekiwas Tral by district Pulwama
First aid camp at HLP Bedi-behak by district kupwara. First aid camp at HLP Chitrath and HLP Vijee by district Baramulla.  

2.The Imported Merino flocks are being shorn at SBF Daksum.
3.Bandipora: Tilling and sowing of Karief fodder crop has started at Goat Farm, ArinDardpora.
4.Sheep and Wool Development Organisation, Gurez provided Awareness about KCC scheme and preventive measures against COVID-19, apart from distributing face masks at kuragbal,Kanzalwan,Chuntwari,Nayal and jalandora.
All activities are being performed while adhering to COVID-19 guidelines.

 

27-06-2020

1.Bandipora: Orchard auction was held at Goat Farm, Arindardpora by a team led by DSHO which realised a record Rs 48600 for the produce.
2.Various summer camps/first aid centres from where reports of routine husbandry practices could reach on 27-06-2020 are as under;
First aid camp Kumkedi kupwara. First aid camp Dubjan Shopian. First aid camp kangdori and chrundi Baramulla.
First aid camp at Dudkhato Bandipora. First aid camp at Zadibak Baramulla.  

3.Shopian: Additional Deputy Commissioner, Shopian; Dr.Abdul Aziz Sheikh, inspected summer camp/first aid centre at Dubijan and apprised the activities taken by the concerned officials of sheep Husbandry Organisation.
4.Bandipora: Officials from Sheep and wool development organisation, Gurez led by VAS, educated sheep farmers for measures to be observed for prevention of COVID-19 and distributed facemasks at Tulail, Gurez. Besides, awareness for KCC Scheme was provided.
5.In plains routine activities of the department continue for livestock that has not migrated to Highland pastures.
All the activities are being performed while adhering to the COVID-19 guidelines.

 

25/26-06-2020

1.All the District Sheep Husbandry Organizations have established FACs / Summer Camps to cater to HLP areas for Veterinary Aid and other routine Husbandry activities.
Various FACs/Summer Camps established for which reports could reach on 25th and 26th are at:

2.Bandipora: Officials of Sheep And Wool development Organistion, Gurez carried out a door to door drive for COVID-19 Sensitization In village Chorwan , Gurez. Where in thermal screening of local farmers was performed, besides hand sanitizers and face masks were distributed among them.
3.In plains, routine activities of the department are being performed for the flocks that have not migrated to HLPs
All the activities are being performed while adhering to the COVID-19 guidelines as provided by the government.

 

24-06-2020

1.Bandipora: 26 number of Govt Breeding Rams were sent/dispatched to Sheep and Wool Development Organisation Gurez for genetic upgradation of local livestock and were distributed on the same day amongst various progressive breeders . In addition to this, 15 number of lactating Does were earmarked at Goat Farm Arindardpora to assess the milk yield for framing the action plan for dairy development of Goat as recommended by experts of Geneticists of the department. The organisation also apprised 51 breeders about covid-19 preventive measures at respective SDO Head quarters in the district.
2.Anantnag: Auction of fruit on trees at Rambirpora Fodder Farm was conducted today in which various bidders participated in the event.
3.Routine Activities continued in different Highland Pastures of Kashmir valley where concerned officials of various district organisations have already established camps for the welfare of migrated livestock present at these HLPs.
4.Tele-medicine services continued in all District Organisations.
Every activity is being done while strictly adhering to COVID-19 guidelines.

 

23-06-2020

1.Sowing of kharief crop was done today at Sheep Breeding Farm, Hardushiva and Rankipora at Budgam.
2.Livestock Migration preparations to HLPs began today at Sheep Breeding Farm, Kralpathri.
3.Development of infrasture at SBF, Zawora; like repair and renovation of sheep sheds, construction of Residential Quarter for Assistant Director/VAS is under process.
4.Ganderbal; At Highland pasture Dourinar, physical verification of Government Rams was conducted by the concerned staff of the organisation. In addition to this tilling and sowing for Kharif crop was completed at mini fodder station Haknar. Besides the concerned District sheep husbandry officer attended a meeting with District Development Commissioner, Ganderbal regarding Organising of Kissan Pakhwada in the District.
5.Kupwara: Physical verification of Govt Rams at Highland Pasture Noungali and Goori Behaks was conducted by the concerned officials.
Every activity is being performed while adhering to COVID-19 guidelines.

1.Inspection of Government Breeding Rams was done by the concerned officials of District Sheep Husbandry organisation, Shopian at Highland pasture, Hastpanj.
2.DSHO, Baramulla constituted a Flying squad/ monitoring team for supervision of functioning of Summer camps at Highland pastures in District Baramulla.
3.Treatment of local livestock and examination of Government Breeding Rams was done at various Baheks at Gulmarg area by the concerned officials of District Baramulla .
4.Sheep Husbandry officials of District Ganderbal gave counselling and advised the nomads and bakerwals at highland pastures regarding COVID-19 .
5.DSHO, Anantnag established Summer camp/ first aid camp at highland pasture Phamber.
6.Routine treatment of local livestock present in plains is being done on daily basis.
All activities are being done while adhering to COVID-19 guidelines.

1. Dy.Director, Feed & Fodder, visited fodder farm Wanihama to inspect the harvesting, lifting of hay and tilling/sowing of kharif fodder seeds which are under progress there.
2. DSHO, Kupwara today visited Behaks of Nowgam sector in Handwara.
3. District Sheep Husbandry Organisation, Kulgam has established Summer camps/ first aid camps at Malwan top, Sekiwas, Kungwattan,Nussu and Hakwas Behaks.
4. Contagious Ecthyma was reported from Devsar block, of district Kulgam: where laboratory officer visited and treated the animals. The concerned Breeder was advised in detail regarding treatment and control.
5. Routine treatment of flocks present in plains is done on daily basis by the concerned employees of district sheep husbandry organisations.
All activities are being performed while adhering to COVID-19 guidelines.

1.Sheep and wool development organisation, Gurez has started a drive to educate various breeders about the COVID-19 pandemic.
2.District sheep Husbandry organisation, Anantnag has established a summer camp/first aid camp at Panjtarni/Burzkoot and Astanmarg highland pastures.
3.District Sheep Husbandry organisation, Kupwara today attended 112 number of breeders whose livestock was treated for different ailments, also 53 breeders were provided tele-medicine.
4.District Sheep Husbandry organisation, Kupwara has established a summer camp/first aid centre at Badi Behak.
5.DSHO, Ganderbal today visited newly constructed buliding at Naranag, inspected first aid camp at Surfraw Kangan and also visited mobile first aid camp at Shutkadi Sonamarg .
6.District Sheep Husbandry organisation Kulgam has established summer camp/first aid camp at Saidanado and Haputnard.
7.Shifting of Rabi crop of fodder farm Rambirpora and Ganeshpura Anantnag to Sheep Breeding Farm Daksum was completed today.
8.Routine activities in plains are being done on daily basis for the livestock which have not migrated to highland pastures.
Every activity is being done while adhering to COVID-19 guidelines.

1. Drying and stacking of fodder was completed today at Sheep Breeding Farm Kewa .
2. Migration of livestock of Sheep Breeding Farm Daksum has started on 15th of this month.
3. District Kulgam has established summer camps at Different Behaks, which provide first aid to migratory livestock present at highland pastures .
4. Mass dosing of livestock at Summer camp Patalwan established by Sheep & wool development organisation, Gurez.
5. Routine activities of vaccination,deworming,and treatment of ailments as and when required are being done in every district sheep husbandry organisation.

1.Assistant Director, Angora Rabbit Farm, Wussan today did Physical verification of the different breeds of Rabbits present at Angora Rabbit Farm Wussan in Pattan area of District Baramulla.
2.An advance party was sent from Sheep Breeding Farm Kralpathri to Highland pasture Ashtar to access the conditions for possibility of migrating the livestock to the same behak.
3.Fodder crop at Rabbit Farm Wussan has been harvested under the supervision of the concerned officials.
4.Routine activities of vaccinations, de-worming, treatment of ailments as and when required are being done on a daily basis.
All the activities are being done while adhering to COVID-19 guidelines.

1. District sheep husbandry organisation Srinagar has established a First Aid camp at highland pasture Aadoo Pahalgam.
2. Harvesting operation at Fodder station, Zakura continues.
3. As reported District sheep husbandry organization, Kupwara has attended 107 breeders today whose livestock was treated for different ailments.
4. As reported, District Kulgam has so far attended and registered a total of 56147 number of migratory livestock.
5. DSHO Ganderbal issued dead stock to incharges of summer camps established at various highland pastures of the District.
6. Fodder from fodder station Lar, Ganderbal was lifted to Sheep Breeding Farm, Goabal for utilisation there.
7. 3rd flock of female Hoggets from Sheep Breeding Farm, Goabal migrated today towards Highland pasture.
8. Routine activities of vaccination,dipping,footbath and telemedicine are being done in every district sheep husbandry organisation.

1.Migration of livestock to HighLand Pasture in Various District Organisations is about to complete, In this regard concerned District Officers advised/instructed the field staff to ensure proper rotational grazing at HLPs, regular salting, Disinfection of paddocks etc.
2.The Committee of Geneticists constituted by the worthy Director, Sheep Husbandry Department, Kashmir, for working out the action plans(s) for genetic improvement of Sheep population in Kashmir for various economically important traits, had their first meeting at the Directorate office. Many modalities with respect to genetic improvement of Sheep Population were explored. The committee also discussed methodologies to be adopted with respect to sustainable use of newly imported Germ-plasm from Australia.
3.District Kulgam has reported that their FACs have attended and registered 5602 number of animals that were migrating towards various Highland Pastures this season.
4.Routine activities of vaccination, dipping, daily treatment, tele-medicine to breeders continued in various Districts.
All activities are being carried out while strictly adhering to COVID-19 guidelines.

 

13-06-2020

1. Harvesting of Rabi crop at fodder station Lar in district Ganderbal was completed under close supervision of concerned staff.
2. 21 flocks comprising of 4629 number of migratory livestock was attended and registered , besides thermal screening of accompanying persons was done at first aid camps in various districts.
3. District Kulgam reported that FACs established there had attended 54725 number of migratory livestock till date.
4. Tele-medicine and treatment at doorstep of breeders continue to be provided in every district
5. Routine activities of vaccination,de-worming,shearing, inspection of Govt. Rams before migrating to highland pastures, continues in every district.
All the activities were carried out while adhering to COVID-19 guidelines.

 

12-06-2020

1. Meetings regarding establishment of summer camps and issuence of bahak orders to this effect are going on in every district.
2. 45 flocks comprising of about 9623 animals were registered and attended besides thermal screening for COVID-19 of persons accompanying was done at various FACs. Number of migrating flocks are decreasing as most of the migratory flocks have already reached Highland Pastures.
3. Harvesting of Rabi crop continues under supervision of concerned officials in various fodder stations of the department.
4. Rabi produce of fodder farm Wanihama is being transported by departmental Trucks to Sheep breeding farm Goabal and the operation of tilling/ sowing of Kharif fodder seeds is going on at S.B.F Goabal.
5. Routine activities of vaccination, deworming, treatment, inspection of Govt rams and shearing continue in every district on a daily basis.
6. Tele- medicine services continue to be provided to sheep breeders in every district.
All the activities are being carried out while adhering to COVID-19 guidelines.

1.Deputy Director: feed & fodder, SHD Kashmir, visited fodder farm Rambirpora to take stock of harvesting of fodder crop in currently progress there,and explored arrangements for lifting the harvest to SBF Daksum.
2. DSHO Srinagar inspected the harvesting of rabi crop at fodder station Zakura.
3.Various district organistions issued the lists of summer camps being established at Highland pastures.
4. DSHO Bandipora reviewed various modalities of telemedicine provided to breeders. Efforts were also made to make KCC more inclusive in the district.
5. About 98 flocks comprising of 23395 animals were attended and registered in various districts by FACs established while also persons accompanying the livestock were thermally secreened for COVID-19.
6.Daily activities of vaccination,deworming, and shearing continue to be provided.
All activities are being carried out while strictly adhering to COVID-19 Guidelines .

1.First aid camps in districts; Bandipora, Ganderbal, Kulgam,and Baramulla attended and registered 84 flocks comprising of over 25631 animals. Moreover, around 98 persons of Chopan/Bakerwal famalies associated with these flock were thermally screened for COVID-19 by the First Aid Camps.
2.Harvesting of fodder crops in Arindardpora, Ganderbal and other fodder producing Farms is in progress under the supervision of the concerned agricultural staff of the respective Sheep Husbandry Organisations.
3.Routine departmental activities of vaccination, deworming, castration etc. are being performed on a daily basis by the concerned field staff.
4.Shearing of Government and private livestock is being done by government shearers and government trained private shearers before migration to Highland pastures in every District.
5. Tele-medicine services continue to be provided to breeders by the department's Veterinarians and Para-Vets in every district.
All the activities are being done while adhering to COVID-19 guidelines.

1.Deputy Director, Feed and Fodder; Dr Syed Moin Ul Haq visited fodder farm Tapper ,and took stock of harvesting of crops currently in progress there; where from today, three truckloads of fodder was transported to SBF Kralpathri.
2.Preparations are in full swing in every district for establishment of Summer camps for treatment of livestock at Highland Pastures.
3.SBF Kewa has established a summer camp at HLP Badibehak and the livestock of the same Breeding Farm is being taken in steps to the Behak to avoid any stress/damage.
4.Kulgam district so far has attended and registered 48966 number of migratory livestock at FAC's established enroute to highland pastures of the district.
5.Routine activities of vaccination, deworming, castration, and other tele-medicine services are being provided in every district on daily basis.
6.Registration and treatment of migratory livestock enroute to highland pastures is being done at every First Aid Camps established by district organisations.
All activities are done while adhering to COVID-19 guidelines.

1.Govt Sheep Breeding Farm, Kewa today started migration of livestock towards Highland Pasture Badibehak .
2.District Kulgam has registered and attended 47225 number of migratory livestock till date. In today's activities One Caesarean section of an ewe was also performed by the concerned laboratory officer of the District.
3.Tele-medicine services continued in every district apart from attending and registration of migratory livestock at FAC's established enroute to highland pastures.
4.Harvesting of Rabi crops is in progress at various fodder farms of the department.
5.DSHO Baramulla today distributed free ration kits among various Nomad/Bakerwal families in Sopore.
6.DSHO Srinagar today inspected FAC Sangam and took stock of the daily activities and facilities being provided to migratory livestock there.
7.Routine activities continued in all Districts while adhering to COVID-19 guidelines.

1.Migration of livestock continuously being attended and registered at various FACs of the concerned districts wherein they are also provided first aid.
2.Harvesting of Rabi crop (Oats) started today at fodder station Lar In district Ganderbal.
3.Routine daily activities like vaccination,Dipping and deworming continued in every district throughout the valley.

1.Pre migration culling of Govt livestock today conducted at SBF Kralpathri to get rid of unwanted and unproductive animals.
2. More than 30,000 migratory Sheep and Goats were registered and attended at various FACs .The accompanying Chopans and Bakerwals were screened thermally for any health issues at concerned FACs.
3.More than 250 calls were recieved for Tele-medicine services in various district organisations and issues related to livestock were addressed.
4.District Sheep Husbandry Officer Ganderbal today Visited and inspected Harvesting of Rabi crop at fodder Farm Haripora.
5.Auction of Govt Livestock was conducted today at SBF Khimber were number of bidders participated in the event.
6.Bandipora:District Sheep Husbandry Officer Bandipora and his team today selected and earmarked 32 No. Of Breeding Rams at SBF Kralpathri and Hardushiva for distribution amongst Varous breeders at Gurez.
7.On the Instructions of Worthy Director Sheep Husbandry Department Kashmir, today Technical officer DSHK Dr.Saqib and Shearing Officer SHDK, Dr.Asif Visited SBF Khimber Constrution Site and took stock of Work going there.
8.Routine activities continued in every District organisation while adhering to COVID 19 guidelines.

1.Routine activities of vaccination, deworming and shearing continued in every district.
2.Migratory livestock is being attended and registered at various FAC's and as well first aid is being provided to them. The Chopans/breeders accompanying the livestock are being thermally screened for any health issue of covid-19.
3.At SBF Daksum an auction of Govt livestock was held today ,wherein Hundreds of bidders participated with zeal and zest.
4.Harvesting of Rabi crops has been started at different Fodder Farms.
5.Physical verification of Govt Breeding Rams is being conducted in every district before there migration to Highland Pastures.
All activities are being done while strictly adhering to Govt Provided Covid-19 guidelines .

1.Director sheep Husbandry Department kashmir Dr Abdul Salam Mir (KAS) today took a surprise visit of Goat Farm Arin Dardpora in District Bandipora,The worthy Director also visited various FAC's in the district,took stock of daily activities and other on going projects of sheep Husbandry Department in the District.
2.Harvesting of Rabi crops started at Haripora Ganderbal.
3.On directions of District Development Commissoner Baramulla,a team of VAS's and para vets was deputed to Pandan Bahek of Tangmarg to access the damage of livestock caused by the lightening strikes and hailstorm during previous night in the said Behak.
4.Routine activities of vaccination,shearing,deworming,castration,screening of chopans and bakerwals,verification and treatment of local and govt livestock continued with zeal in all districts.
5.Tele- medicine services were provided to breeders in every district.
All activities are being carried out while strictly adhering to COVID-19 guidelines .

1.Around 37451 migratory livestock has been till now attended by FAC's in District kulgam where in the chopans and bakerwals accompanying the livestock have been screened thermally for covid-19,in every district the DSHO's have made it mandatory upon each i/c FAC camps to screen everone accompanying the migratory livestock.
2.At FAC's first aid is being given to migratory livestock whereever needed.
3.Apart from the activities related with migration of livestock,Daily activities are done which include vaccination,dipping,shearing,foot bath,Govt Rams verification,Dead stock verification and so on are being done in every district.
4.These days breeders are giving preferrence to tele-medicine services due to threat of covid-19.DSHO's have made it mandatory upon vas's and other para vets to remain active for giving tele-medicine services to breeders.
5.Social distancing, hand wash and other mandatory guidelines regarding covid-19 are strictly adhered with while doing the daily activities.

1.Routine activities continued across kashmir valley.
2.Migration of local livestock is picking up and chopans are on way to the alpines and sub alpines of the valley, today 28 flocks comprising of 24000 Sheep and goats passed through different FAC's which were attended by our staff and provided first aid enroute.
3.Telemedication services continue, today 146 calls were redressed by our VAS's.
4.Almost 80-85% livestock has migrated to subalpine pastures. Ground work for establishment of Highland pasture camps are in progress.
5.Around 8000 migratory sheep and goats registered and attended at our first aid camps. Chopans and Bakerwals accompanying the flocks were screened thermally for health issues at concerned FAC's.

1.Ganderbal: District Sheep Husbandry Organisation Ganderbal today established Mobile First Aid Camp at Shutkadi Sonamarg to provide health Care to livestock present there.
2.Routine activities of Dosing,Vaccination Dipping and physical verification of Govt Rams were conducted in every district.
3. More than 20,000 migratory Sheep and Goats were registered and attended at various FACs .The accompanying Chopans and Bakerwals were screened thermally for any health issues at concerned FACs.
4.Culling of unproductive livestock in the field organisations and shearing of private livestock is being carried out in every district.
5.Tele-services to provide counselling to livestock breeders and Screening of Migratory livestock at FAC's continued in all Districts
